Monday, 4/15/24: Talking about what’s on my radar this morning
Happy Monday!
It’s a new week, which means it’s time for your next Monday motivation newsletter.
Read on below for some steps to a happier Monday and some positive thoughts to get your week started.
Three Steps to a Happier Monday
Each newsletter starts with three prompts to inspire gratitude and simple intention setting. Take a moment and jot down answers to these three questions. To give an example, I share my answers below.
Step 1: What are three things I appreciated from the weekend?
Step 2: What is one thing I can be excited about today?
Step 3: What is my intention for this week?
GRATITUDE: I’m thankful for BEAUTIFUL sunny weather, a day date with Matt Friday and a fun afternoon with friends Saturday!
TODAY: Today, I’m most excited for my run outside this morning. Yay another day of sun!
INTENTION: My intention this week is to focus on week as a whole – as this author writes, “any given 24 hours might not be balanced, but the 168-hour week as a whole can be.”
Okay, your turn! And if you want to share your three steps, I am all ears. 🙂
On My Monday Radar
Some Mondays, we aren’t ready to jump into our to-do list right away. In case you want some content to procrastinate with, here’s a roundup of a few positive things on my radar:
- I read The Good Part by Sophie Cousens last week and loved it! A bit of a modern day retelling of 13 Going on 30, but featuring the ages of 26 to 42. Sophie’s writing always feels comforting and cozy to read, and this one was no different! Makes you think, laugh and reminiscence about what you would tell your younger self if you had the chance to do so.
- I was excited to see Dr. Meg Jay was a guest on Adam Grant’s podcast. I listened on my last day of being 29, which felt very poignant since Dr. Jay wrote a book that had a very profound impact on my 20s – The Defining Decade. Excited to see she is out with a new book!
- “My Dream Break From Work Wasn’t What I Expected.” I always like reading Rachel’s Work & Life columns and found this one interesting!
- I love this: Internet Traffic Dipped as Viewers Took in the Eclipse.
- Jo Piazza Does Her Best Writing At 35,000 Feet. Agree with this – I love working (and writing!) on planes. Can’t wait to read Jo’s latest, The Sicilian Inheritance.
- I feel SEEN, hahaha.
Picture of the Week

Let’s make it a great Monday!
