Monday, 2/3/25: Talking about February planning
Happy Monday!
It’s a new week, which means it’s time for your next Monday motivation newsletter.
Read on below for some steps to a happier Monday and some positive thoughts to get your week started.
Three Steps to a Happier Monday
Each newsletter starts with three prompts to inspire gratitude and simple intention setting. Take a moment and jot down answers to these three questions. To give an example, I share my answers below.
Step 1: What are three things I appreciated from the weekend?
Step 2: What is one thing I can be excited about today?
Step 3: What is my intention for this week?
GRATITUDE: From my weekend, I am thankful that we got our wedding photos back!!, trying a delicious new recipe Saturday and fun texts with friends.
TODAY: Today, I’m most excited to have some quiet time this morning.
INTENTION: My intention this week is to remember I can handle anything that comes my way.
Okay, your turn! And if you want to share your three steps, I am all ears. 🙂
Meaningful Musings: February Intentions & Goals
“February, that month of fleetest sweetness” – Emily Dickinson
We made it to February!! This is no small feat. I’m sure you’ve all seen the memes by now… but truly, this month has felt like a year.
A really great month (Got married! Went on a honeymoon! Lots of cleaning and organizing!). But also a month filled with some hard things and tragedies. Onwards we turn the calendar to February, friends.
I wrote last week about goals for 2025 and I’m back today with … more goals!
I promise we will diversify the content soon… But I’ve found I really like the rhythm of setting overarching goals for the year & crafting smaller, more time-bound goals / intentions for each month.
My favorite part about the monthly goal setting is taking a beat at the beginning of the month to think about what’s ahead and how I want to spend my time. It really helps me live in the season and be more intentional.
If you are looking for an activity to do this week, give this a try! Spend a few moments thinking about what’s coming up and want you need from your February.
February 2025 Reflection
What do I love about the month of February?
- Love the fun of Valentine’s Day and that we have a long weekend (Presidents Day).
- Still feels like the “new” year! 2025 is just getting started.
Anything unique happening this February?
- For the most part the calendar is wide open (YAY!), but Matt and I are going to North Carolina for a friend’s wedding, which will be so fun.
February 2025 Goals and Intentions
- No-shop February!! Let’s go. I usually do a no-shop (no shopping for clothes, shoes, etc.) in January, but this January was a little different than years past. So, we’re moving the ban to Feb.! I love doing this shopping pause to reset purchasing habits and reminding myself of how much I already have.
- Order wedding thank you cards. Matt and I just got our wedding photos back (posted some to my Instagram last night!!). We’ve had so much fun going through the pics and re-living memories. And now that we have our photos, we can order some thank-you cards (I LOVE when the thank you card has a picture from the day on it). We were caught up on thank-you notes before the wedding but have more that we need to write. This is a fun goal. 🙂
- Wednesday night game night with Matt. One of my annual goals is more ‘quality time’ on a weekly basis with Matt. So, for the month of February, we are going to try to do a casual game night on Wednesday, instead of watching TV. I’m so excited! Let me know if you have any favorite two-player games!!
- Prepare for visitors! Have some visitors coming next month for St. Patrick’s Day, so want to do some planning and preparing now. Going to be so fun!
