Megan's Monday Motivation

Monday, 11/22/21: Talking about Thanksgiving week and fun links

Happy Monday!

It’s a new week, which means it’s time for your next Monday motivation newsletter. Read on below for some steps to a happier Monday and some positive thoughts to get your week started.

Three Steps to a Happier Monday

Each newsletter starts with three prompts to inspire gratitude and simple intention setting. Take a moment and jot down answers to these three questions. To give an example, I share my answers below.

Step 1: What are three things I appreciated from the weekend?

Step 2: What is one thing I can be excited about today?

Step 3: What is my intention for this week?

GRATITUDE: From my weekend, I’m thankful I was able to be with my mom on her birthday, for time spent with my parents and for the time to recharge ahead of this week.

TODAY: I’m most excited to make some headway on a project at work today.

INTENTION: My intention for this week is to write down five things I’m thankful for every morning (thinking it’s timely with Thanksgiving on Thursday!).

Okay, your turn! And if you want to share your three steps, I am all ears. 🙂

Meaningful Musings: Fun Roundup of Links!

Good morning! I can’t believe it is Thanksgiving week. So excited to be in the swing of the holiday season.

I have a bit of a different newsletter format for this morning. The truth is I’m trying to find my balance as I take on a few new (and exciting!) projects at work. Between that and spending the weekend celebrating my mom’s birthday with her (so fun! so glad we were able to be together), I didn’t get to writing the newsletter I originally had in mind. So, I decided to save that idea for next week and instead share a fun roundup of links that I hope sets your Monday off on the right foot, especially if you are looking for something to listen to or read this week. 🙂

Hope you enjoy!

  • If you are looking for a podcast episode to listen to…
    • I loved this episode with Atomic Habits Author James Clear. My favorite quote (and the one they repeat multiple times during the interview)? “You do not rise to the level of your goals, you fall to the level of your systems.” I can’t wait for part two!
    • I’m a big fan of Gabrielle Union, so I loved from hearing her on this episode. Ever since I read her first memoir earlier this year, I’ve been impressed with her honesty and vulnerability. She just came out with a second book and I can’t wait to read it.
  • Speaking of books, need something to read this week?
    • I am reading this book right now and am loving it!! It is LONG – when I checked it out from the library, I couldn’t believe how many pages it was. I’m not finished with it yet, but I’m really liking it and if you like any kind of political thriller, I think you will too.
    • This is book I’m reading next. I mentioned last week I want to look for some festive books to read throughout December and this one seems to be quite popular.
    • If you are also interested in festive books, recommend checking out this series. I love getting lost in a series. It’s so nice not having to decide which book to read next!
  • A few articles I recently bookmarked in case you need some inspiration this morning…
  • What’s your favorite Thanksgiving dish?
    • I can’t wait to make this stuffing recipe on Thursday. It is my favorite! Hope however you are celebrating, you have a wonderful Thanksgiving this week. 🙂

That’s all for today! I hope you found something in today’s newsletter that sparked motivation, made you smile or inspired a positive Monday thought. Don’t underestimate the power of starting small… a fulfilling week starts with just one fulfilling day. You’ve got this!

Let’s make it a great Monday!
