Living in the Midwest, I’m always hesitant to label March as “spring.” But the truth is, there is change happening around me. I’m seeing little signs of the new season on its way.

I’m thankful for having my mom in town, good conversations and discovering a great walking trail Saturday. Today, I’m most excited to have a little weekly planning session with myself this morning. And my intention for the week is to write down three things I’m thankful for every morning.

There’s something about documenting a single day that sharpens your attention. It preserves not just the big milestones, but the texture of ordinary days too. It forces you to notice what might otherwise blur together.

It’s my last full week of maternity leave. I go back to work mid-next week. As you might imagine, that sentence carries a lot of emotion with it – from excitement and curiosity to sadness and longing.

It’s February, there’s still snow on the ground and freezing temps (even in Florida I hear!). But there are also nightly winter sunsets that paint the sky pink, and I notice the light lingering later each evening. Things feel good.

To me, January always feels like the longest month of the year. I love it, but still – it’s a long one. Can you believe there’s another week of it left?!
