Monday, 11/11/24: Talking about what’s on my radar this morning
Happy Monday!
It’s a new week, which means it’s time for your next Monday motivation newsletter.
Read on below for some steps to a happier Monday and some positive thoughts to get your week started.
Three Steps to a Happier Monday
Each newsletter starts with three prompts to inspire gratitude and simple intention setting. Take a moment and jot down answers to these three questions. To give an example, I share my answers below.
Step 1: What are three things I appreciated from the weekend?
Step 2: What is one thing I can be excited about today?
Step 3: What is my intention for this week?
GRATITUDE: I’m thankful for catching up with friends from college, lots of laughs and Matt being able to pick me up from the airport.
TODAY: I’m most excited to get a Starbucks coffee this morning… holidays cups are here!
INTENTION: My intention this week is to revel in my routines.
Okay, your turn! And if you want to share your three steps, I am all ears. 🙂
On My Monday Radar
Some Mondays, we aren’t ready to jump into our to-do list right away. In case you want some content to procrastinate with, here’s a roundup of a few positive things on my radar. Hope you enjoy!
- When Life Feels Chaotic, Less is More. A good reminder… all for the micro wins right now!
- I recently discovered the Substack “Things That Make Me Happy,” and I’m loving it! A weekly roundup of TV/movies, books and other joys.
- I’m really happy to be a good reading groove right now. I think some of it is because I’m staying off social media and not shopping this month (November intentions), which naturally makes me reach for my Kindle more. Having great books in my queue also helps! I just finished The Heir Affair, which was the sequel to The Royal We – both books I loved and feel like a form of escapism. The book I’m currently reading right now is None of This is True, which has been gripping from the beginning. I had two long flights this weekend and read so much of this book on both of them!
- Speaking of a good reading queue… I’ve cultivated mine for the holiday season! In December, one of my favorite things to do is to read light and cozy holiday books. Puts me in such a festive mood! Here’s what I plan to read this year:
- Calm Christmas and a Happy New Year (a book I like to re-listen to every year at the beginning of the season!)
- A December to Remember (Jenny Bayliss is one of my favorite holiday authors)
- Bright Lights, Big Christmas
- The Holiday Cottage
- The Santa Suit
- When you stop and take about it, how would you describe November? Love this prompt about this ‘before’ time ahead of the end-of-year finale.
Picture of the Week
That’s all for today! I hope you found something in today’s newsletter that sparked motivation, made you smile or inspired a positive Monday thought. Don’t underestimate the power of starting small… a fulfilling week starts with just one fulfilling day. You’ve got this!
Let’s make it a great Monday!
