Monday, 8/5/24: Talking about what’s on my radar this morning
Happy Monday!
It’s a new week, which means it’s time for your next Monday motivation newsletter.
Read on below for some steps to a happier Monday and some positive thoughts to get your week started.
Three Steps to a Happier Monday
Each newsletter starts with three prompts to inspire gratitude and simple intention setting. Take a moment and jot down answers to these three questions. To give an example, I share my answers below.
Step 1: What are three things I appreciated from the weekend?
Step 2: What is one thing I can be excited about today?
Step 3: What is my intention for this week?
GRATITUDE: I’m thankful for time with family and friends, a very special bridal shower on Saturday and extra time with my mom and Matt’s mom Sunday!
TODAY: Today, I’m most excited to get settled for the week ahead.
INTENTION: My intention this week is to cultivate a ‘Saturday vibe’ (more on this below).
Okay, your turn! And if you want to share your three steps, I am all ears. 🙂
On My Monday Radar
Some Mondays, we aren’t ready to jump into our to-do list right away. In case you want some content to procrastinate with, here’s a roundup of a few positive things on my radar. Hope you enjoy!First, an update on my summer reading list (it’s been so fun to have a ‘list’ to follow this summer!):
- So far this summer, I’ve read:
- Funny Story by Emily Henry: Loved it – just like how I love all her other books. The dialogue in this one was great!
- One-Star Romance by Laura Hankin: Cute rom-com story with some unexpectedly serious themes.
- Summer of ’69 by Elin Hilderbrand: Classic Elin Hilderbrand novel!
- A Happier Life by Kristy Woodson Harvey: Okay, I feel so conflicted about this book! The story alternates between present day (where the protagonist moves into her grandparent’s home full of hidden secrets) and past tense (1976, where we also see her grandparents’ past lives played out). I loveddd the past timelines chapters – learning more about the grandmother was my favorite part. However, the ending really surprised me and I’m still not sure how I feel about it!
- Iron Flame by Rebecca Yarros: I’m not the biggest fantasy reader, but I understand the hype around Fourth Wing and Iron Flame!
- Currently reading :
- Swan Song by Elin Hilderbrand: This is Elin’s last Nantucket-based novel… I am not reading for my ‘time on Nantucket’ to be over!!!
- Books that are up next:
- Summer Pact by Emily Giffin
- Hello Beautiful by Ann Napolitano
What are you reading this summer?
- Speaking of books… I’m so excited for The Perfect Couple Netflix series to come out next month! Loved the book.
- Cultivate a Saturday Vibe. I love this idea and want to bring this intention into August.
- Ending with one of my favorite things to read… a list of life hacks! I always pick up inspiration and new trips and tricks from fun lists like these.
